I obtained a PhD in Comparative Literature at the University of Padua in 2019. I was a visiting research student at the University of Cambridge (Darwin College; 2016-2017) and at Royal Holloway, University of London (2017). My doctoral research concerned the representation of the Second World War in post-postmodern fiction, in works by Roberto Bolaño, William T. Vollmann, Jonathan Littell, and Richard Flanagan, among others. As Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto, I will be working on the ecological issues raised by twenty-first century Italian science fiction and weird fiction. I am also interested in horror fiction, the Gothic, and hauntology.

I have co-edited with Valentina Sturli the volume on contemporary horror fiction Vecchi maestri e nuovi mostri. Tendenze e prospettive della letteratura horror all’inizio del nuovo millennio (Mimesis 2019). I am also co-editor, with Giuseppe Carrara, of the monographic issue of the peer-reviewed journal Enthymema on the American writer William T. Vollmann (23, 2019). I have published peer-reviewed articles on Philip Roth, William T. Vollmann, Roberto Bolaño, Jeff VanderMeer, Bret Easton Ellis, and on Italian science fiction. The Conflict Revisited: The Second World War in Post-Postmodern Fiction, a book based on my doctoral thesis, is scheduled for publication by Peter Lang in 2020.
