About the Iacobucci Centre
The Centre for Italian Canadian Studies has been located within the Department of Italian Studies of the University of Toronto since 1988. In 1995, when funds were contributed by the Italian community through CIDA (Canadian Italian Development Association) and the National Congress of Italian Canadians, the Centre was named in honour of the Supreme Court Justice Frank Iacobucci. The Centre hosts an annual conference (click here for past or present conference) and also publishes the annual journal Italian Canadiana. The Centre is creating an archive for the documentation of the Italian experience in Canada.
This web site will be used as part of this archival undertaking. It is anticipated that the web site will serve as a major resource for those looking for information on Italian-Canadian studies in Canada, for access to organizations, and similar queries. It will also provide researchers with primary archival materials which will be scanned or input and made available to those interested.
The Frank Iacobucci Centre for Italian Canadian Studies is housed in the Department of Italian Studies, 100 St. Joseph Street, Carr Hall (telephone 926-2345). For further information write to iacobucci.centre@utoronto.ca.
